Auntie Mee's Tea Time

Have a cup of tea over my story.

10. Auntie Mee’s Origami Museum

“Origami” is now an international term and appreciated by people all over the world.

In Japan people starts learning origami before we go to elementary school.

At the beginning we make simple pieces like a boat, house, dog and so on. At the age of five to seven we learn how to make a paper crane.

Some people are fond of origami working even after they have grown up and a few people reaches professional level to put their skill in advanced technologies such as space technology.

Only by folding a piece of paper and so on, the technique can be adopted in the various fields .

My father used to be a member of a seniors’ group to learn a wide variety of culture. The group once invited an instructor for origami works.

It seemed that my father worked on origami for the first time in about seventy years. At first he could not make even a simple piece, however after a while he surprised me with elaborated origami works.

Followings are his works.
